Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, SDHS vounteers, Mysore, India, 29-May-2010

If you want to be fit for service, you must do exercise. You cant sit or
stand for three hours because you don’t exercise. Your body pains.
Like food is important to body, exercise also is important. Practice
Hata yoga. It
is a great respect for family, nation and Sadguru

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Vidyarthi Gnana Bodha Sabha, Mysore, India. 19-May-2004

People from many regions come to this Ashrama. They all speak different
languages. Ask them if you want. They will confirm that they can
understand the message of Sri Swamiji’s speech even if Swamiji is
speaking a different language than theirs. It is because of love for
Swamiji and the simple words Sri Swamiji uses. Love works here.

Pujya Sri Swamiji, October 11th, 1997, Saturday, Mysore, India

"The upsurge of the feeling, 'I and mine', lessen righteousness from the
mind, allowing allurement and attachment to overpower one's thinking.
This is the power of illusion."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, October 11th 97, Saturday, Mysore, India

"Even the thought 'I want this', arising in one's mind on seeing
something is equivalent to enjoyment of the same. This is the fine
subtle aspect of Dharma."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, October 11th 97, Saturday, Mysore, India

"Vedas, Vedangas, Yagas, Penance, modes of worship -- all these are
meant to enable us to get over the illusion.  Inspite of all these noble
practices only deep devotion can make us defeat Maya (illusion).  If the
path of devotion is left out, one cannot get liberation from the
clutches of enchantment, inspite of scholarship or prolonged penance.
It is likely that such people are engulfed more and more in the lure of
Maya."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Nadamantapa, Mysore, India, 21-May-2004

Selfless service is Guru Seva. Since God resides in Humans and not on
some mountain top, it is important to always bear in mind that Human
Service is Godly Service. Serving humbly - even to those who are full of
ego will help them to understand how prepared and dedicated you are.
Volunteerism is not a easy job. Don’t just serve with just physical
body. Add to it the devotion and humility.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Peethapuram, Mysore, India, 10-Jan-2003

Don’t come to Swamiji just because your friends or family members
come. You should come only of your heart says so. Don’t do anything
without full conviction. No doubt, the first few meetings will be to
have a feel about the whole thing. But it should not last very long.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Kartika Somavara, Mysore, India, 15-Nov-2004

There are many atom like particles in Bhu Mandala [Planet Earth], which
is God’s creation. The spirit of Shiva pervades over the entire globe,
the galaxies and the Universe. Shiva is Truth. Shiva is the
Mangalamurti who gives you joy and bliss.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Sivaratri, Mysore, India, 07-Mar-1997

Desires are like loans. Thinking that in spite of all prayers, the God
is
not giving me is also a loan. To pay off that loan, we have to intensely
believe God, perform physical service, pray and help the needy.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima, Mysore, India, 30-Jul-96

On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima we all should, as per the
tradition of Bharata, we should respect, speak to, touch, worship and
pray our teachers or Gurus who have bestowed us knowledge or Mantra for
our Spiritual Sadhana. This is the way and this is the Tapas. This Tapas
has come from Badarayana Sage, Vyasa, the Saptarshis, Valmiki. Why is
this day alone important ?

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivaratri, Mysore, India, 02-Mar-1991

The final goal of an individual soul is Moksha. There will be ups and
downs in the ascent to this goal. Errors will bring about repentance and
must lead to success.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Vidyarthi Gnana Bodha Sabha, Mysore, India, 19-May-2004

Mother tongue language is very important. Otherwise we will lose some
precious treasure. Learning languages is the trait of a good person.
When I was a small boy, I shied to speak English. God made me love and
speak English now. I am forced to speak in my own English style for
hours when I am in foreign countries. Learning language causes progress
to nation. Learning a new language makes you understand and respect new
cultures.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Dattatreya Jayanti, Mysore, India, 12-Dec-2008

Never practice Tamasic tendencies or Rakshasa Gunas (qualities of
demons). Rajo Guna is excusable but Demonic qualities (Tamo guna) are
not. Even while you are having Rajo Guna, your thought must be Satvik.
Your file will be taken up by Sadguru for reformation. You will be
gradually uplifted to Satva Guna.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Birthday celebrations,Mysore, India, 25-May-1997

We must speak good words. It is the tendency of human beings to find
fault everywhere. The cause behind this tendency is that they themselves
are full of faults. If the mind is flawless, the world also appears
flawless. Therefore O ! Man ! Consume useful knowledge and acquire
useful Mukti.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Datta Jayanti Celebrtions, Mysore, India, 13-Dec-1997

By satsanga i.e. association with Sadguru and by serving with faith and
devotion, one can progress spiritually. The magnificence and glory of
Sadguru wipes out many sins. The service must be sincere.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima, Mysore, India, 30-Jul-96

Guru is Purna [full]. Here full does not denote form or decoration. This
can be done by many. Full here denotes enlightening the six chakras and
removing the darkness of ignorance. Sadguru Darshana is capable of
removing sins. This is the importance of Guru Purnima.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivarathri,Mysore, India, 07-Mar-1997

To practice selfless Karma, you need guidance of a Sadguru. You mustn
live the Vedantic way. Your past Karma sometimes bring you
unhappiness. The selfless Karma you do now will erase that old Karma and
bring you relief.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivaratri, Mysore, 7-Mar-97

Many Vedantic principals can be explained with the aid of similes andexamples. But only a Sadguru can decide which principles can be put into practise and which cannot be. You should listen the instructions ofthe Sadguru.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's discourse on Bhakti, Mysore, 11-Dec-2008

The ultimate goal of all spiritual practices is salvation. There are
however several paths to reach this ultimate goal. Of the several paths
that lead to liberation, Bhakti (devotion) has been given a very
important place. Bhakti connotes different meanings to different people.
Going to temple, chanting divine names, performing Homa are all examples
of Bhakti.
