Pujya Sri Swamiji, Sadguru Sookti Sangraha ( Think before you speak)

A man can make his life either happy of miserable depending on the manner in which he puts this gift to use.  By a proper and discreet use of speech, a man not only makes his own life happy but for others as well. Improper and indiscreet speech can create problems which can render a man's life miserable and unhappy. Therefore it is said "Think before you speak".

Pujya Sri Swamiji, Sayings of Sri Swamiji - SGS speech at Rāga Rāgiṇī Nāda Yōga book inauguration in Hyderabad

Rāga Rāgiṇī Nāda Yōga has been called Rāga Rāgiṇī
Nāda Dīpa (Light) by Sri Bala Swamiji.  I like that.  It is like
Light.  When you see an earthen lamp what do you have there?  There is a
mud saucer made by a potter.  There is the wick made by a weaver.  There
is the oil that came from the oil extractor.

Friendship; acquiring good friends is of prime importance in one's life.
It is not only to laugh and be merry. There is more meaning to this than
friendship. Thus, one has to choose and pick one's friends carefully.

Pujya Sri Swamiji, Datta Swarupa (Apr 1986)

God is not concerned either with the quality or quantity of the
materials offered to Him. What he is concerned and sees most is the
attitude or the feeling with which the offerings are made. Whatever is
offered to God should be done with pure devotion and a pure mind.

Pujya Sri Swamiji in Austria, on listening (Aug 20, 1995)

Right after waking up in the morning you should say: 'Hari Hari, Datta
Datta, Jesus Jesus, Aum Namah Shivaya, Jaya Guru Datta', any good words,
names of God. It is not good if you wake up and immediately think,
'Coffee coffee, tea tea, oh, headache, smoking'. Let your tongue say
God's names first in the morning and get up peacefully.

Pujya Sri Swamiji, Sadguru Sookti Sangaraha on Tapas (Penance)

Whatever is done to help others with unselfish attitude, balanced mind
and dedicated spirit is real tapas (penance).  Such actions, whether in
the spiritual field or business and trade, or agriculture are all tapas.

Pujya Sri Swamiji in Austria - Dreams - (Aug 21, 1995)

So many people are asking: "Why is Swamiji not coming in my dreams?".
Because you are very sleepy and your 'room' is full of dirt. Your mind
is overcrowded. I want to enter into your dreams. But how shall I get
into that crowded place? Clean your 'room'. Clean your mind. Clean your
heart. Then I will enter your dreams. Then I will give experiences to
your mind. But you are full of doubts, of depressions, of expectations.
How can I enter?

Pujya Sri Swamiji, Sadguru Sookti Sangraha (Harmony-Inner and Outer)

If you are in harmony within yourself, the entire outside world will
also be in harmony. If you see conflicts outside, it is your inner
conflict, which on projection, sees conflicts outside.

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from God Word-I, Oct 76

"Undisturbed calmness of mind is attained by cultivating friendliness
towards happy; mercy and compassion towards the unhappy; delight
towards the virtuous and indifference towards the wicked."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from God Word-I, Three Obligations (Aug 1984)

"Everyone, whatever his or her religion, faith and/or race maybe, is
striving, some knowingly and others unknowingly, to achieve absolute
happiness.  For this, he has to absolve himself of the three
obligations, which he carries with him from the time of  his birth. They
are:

  1. Obligation to the Rishis
  2. Obligation to the Gods
  3. Obligation to the forefathers"
