Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Laguna Hills,18-Jul-2003

Swamiji's movements may seem very ordinary or sometimes even funny. You
will never understand the inner meaning. There will be some one
benefiting from that act. Even silence from Swamiji has benefits
intended for someone. It is a way of treatment.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Hindu Temple, St.Louis, USA, 06-Jul-2003

Why do devotees waste so many flowers on Gods? Flowers are like your
intellect. You are offering your mind to God. Leaves of plants are also
offered. When you do real Puja, happy tears come. It is the final
offering to God.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Pithapuram, AP, India: 19-Jan-2003

The more you become a servant, the God blesses you more. He becomes your
servant when you humble yourself. Showing your ego is a giant pitfall.
Sadguru does not bless you until you do Namaskara to him.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, London, UK, 02-Aug-04

Ramayana is no ordinary story. It is the real life today. You have to
inquire in to your life about its aims and duties. Many have inquired
but are lost in the answers they have discovered. But you need to
patiently go through the answers you find and then you will understand
everything.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Peethapuram,AP, India 18-Jan-2003

When doing good and work of truth, you may face difficulties.
Difficulties in life are like family members. You have to accept it.
While trying to Dhyana, one yawns. Why because while trying to achieve
concentration you tend to sleep. That happens because the only time you
rest is when you sleep. That is the only concentration in life.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima, 30-Jul-1996

We should find an able driver. The Driver takes you through the best
possible route. Like Krishna drove Arjuna in Maha Bharata. He drove
Arjuna to safety and finally victory. At last, Krishna Tells Arjuna " If
you cannot do anything, then at least surrender to me. I will help you."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Addressing children participating in Vidyarthi Gnana Bodha Sabha. Mysore, India – 19-May-2004

Be good children.
Respect your Parents.
Respect Elders in the family.
Study well.
Learn your mother tongue.
Have discipline in Life.
Don’t give up your love to God

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, London, 02-Jul-2006

From birth we have many gurus at each stage of life.
1. Mother as guru
2. Father as guru
3. teacher as guru
4. Career guru
5. Spiritual guru
You may have many gurus but mother, father and Sadguru can not be
changed. Some devotees chase different gurus. They do not understand the
principle of guru tatva (principle).

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima, Mysore, India, 30-Jul-96

On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima we all should, as per the
tradition of Bharata, we should respect, speak to, touch, worship and
pray our teachers or Gurus who have bestowed us knowledge or Mantra for
our Spiritual Sadhana. This is the way and this is the Tapas. This Tapas
has come from Badarayana Sage, Vyasa, the Saptarshis, Valmiki. Why is
this day alone important ?

Pujya Sri Swamiji's discourse ,London, 22-Apr- 2005

God gives and God takes. What to give to whom, when, why and how are
His decisions. He also causes the love and devotion to Sadguru. He does
it when he finds you to be ready for that association.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Trinidad, 03-Mar-1991

Some people ask whether Swamiji performs miracles. Swamiji never
performs miracles. But, don't you see Swamiji's presence in this Ashram
in Trinidad itself is a great miracle?

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivaratri, Mysore, India, 02-Mar-1991

The final goal of an individual soul is Moksha. There will be ups and
downs in the ascent to this goal. Errors will bring about repentance and
must lead to success.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Vidyarthi Gnana Bodha Sabha, Mysore, India, 19-May-2004

Mother tongue language is very important. Otherwise we will lose some
precious treasure. Learning languages is the trait of a good person.
When I was a small boy, I shied to speak English. God made me love and
speak English now. I am forced to speak in my own English style for
hours when I am in foreign countries. Learning language causes progress
to nation. Learning a new language makes you understand and respect new
cultures.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Marakata Raja Rajeswari Kumbhabhishekam,03-Feb-2003

I am so happy that you all are here in my lifetime. This very fact makes
me very happy. Even after many eons, I will be remembering you. You all
must feel proud for having lived in these great times. I am proud to
have such devotees like you all. I pray you O’ Goddess - Give them
health and wealth. I pray the same over and over.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Bhaktimala, Aug-2008

Surrendering totally one's body, mind and intellect at the feet of the
Lord is true surrender. In the life of a sharanaagata, there has to be no
element of ego whatsoever.

God Word - 3

As a result of merit earned over many births, one will get a Sadguru. It
must be remembered that if one stops performing meritorious acts, the
Sadguru will leave him. Therefore one should not give up all regular
austerities even after meeting one's Sadguru.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Mt. Shasta, CA, USA, 07-Aug-2009

Your moral corruption and despondency are your own and there is no
necessity to infect others with this moral and psychological ailment. As
such, every person has to traverse the path chalked out for that
individual. This path is unique and no one has the right to make
another’s path difficult.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Lessons in Vedanta, Mysore, India

Happiness in the other world also depends upon the amount of merit
earned by us in this world. More the effort, more the merit and more the
happiness. With more and more effort, one might become eligible to go to
Vaikuntha or Kailasa or Brahma loka. But it must be remembered that even
this merit is like a bag of grains. It will be exhausted sooner or
later.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Dattatreya Jayanti, Mysore, India, 12-Dec-2008

Never practice Tamasic tendencies or Rakshasa Gunas (qualities of
demons). Rajo Guna is excusable but Demonic qualities (Tamo guna) are
not. Even while you are having Rajo Guna, your thought must be Satvik.
Your file will be taken up by Sadguru for reformation. You will be
gradually uplifted to Satva Guna.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Birthday celebrations,Mysore, India, 25-May-1997

We must speak good words. It is the tendency of human beings to find
fault everywhere. The cause behind this tendency is that they themselves
are full of faults. If the mind is flawless, the world also appears
flawless. Therefore O ! Man ! Consume useful knowledge and acquire
useful Mukti.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Datta Jayanti Celebrtions, Mysore, India, 13-Dec-1997

By satsanga i.e. association with Sadguru and by serving with faith and
devotion, one can progress spiritually. The magnificence and glory of
Sadguru wipes out many sins. The service must be sincere.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Laguna Hills, CA, USA, 9-Aug-2009

Granted, I adhere to Karma Yoga and respect it. However, Dattatreya’s
teachings, state ‘Smarthrugami Sanovathu’, ‘Smarana mathra
santhushta.’ Therefore, do not accord undue importance to Karma Yoga
and formal worship. It is sufficient to chant ‘Datta’. This renders
Him very happy. Therefore chant ‘Sri Guru Datta’. Such intonation
provides immense joy to Lord Anjaneya, as He is also a follower of Lord
Datta.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Bhaktimala 2008

We have fickle minds just like the behavior of a monkey, We always
remember bad things only. We forget the good things. In fact, it should
be the reverse. Wise men do not brood over past sorrows and
frustrations.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Bhaktimala, Jan-1997

Although Yoga is employed to achieve health, it does not stop there. By
conferring the power to control the mind, it certainly shows the way to
reach higher realms of Truth. There may be innumerable spiritual paths,
but all paths employ yoga in one form or the other to reach the ultimate
goal. Therefore, it can be said that yoga does not have limitations such
as religion, community, region and sex.

Sri Swamiji

God is the only friend of yours both in calamity and adversity. The Lord knows what you want and is pleased only with your sincere devotion. No outward show is needed to please God. God is within each one of us though it may not be possible for us to see Him. The eyelids protect our eyes and yet we cannot see them without the aid of a mirror. Similarly God is there but we may not be able to see Him without the help of the Sadguru. The basic ingredient of all religions and faiths is one and the same. It is experiencing the existence of God through the realization of the Divinity of Man.
