Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Omkara Center, Frewsburg, New York, 1986

"Don't feel empty. Don't feel empty. This is what Swamiji always says. Don't feel empty. Don't feel alone. So many people feel alone. 'I am empty, I am alone. Nobody looks. Nobody helps. I have no husband. I have no children. I have no money.',... so many people are crying like this. It is not good. Be happy. Take it easy. You must face difficulties in your life. Sometimes, you are making a plan, and He is making a different plan. You face it and take it as lessons. Don't get disappointed."

Sri Swamiji's speech in Trinidad Ashrama 10th August 2000

"If you go to Maha Bharata, there are so many subjects. On politics, economics, administration, Yoga, Sanyasa Yoga. Yoga, Bhoga, Thyaga, Raga, Viraga, all these subjects are covered in it. This knowledge is hidden behind the story of the cousins, Kauravas and Pandavas. Study the Maha Bharata in Vedanta way. It is a message for the world. It applies to all religions. You must give training to your children to study such books. You sit on a sofa watching television and worry that your children are not religious or spiritual. What a satire."

Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Omkara Center, Frewsburg, New York, 1986

"Some Indian temples are so far away in the hills. Our mind is always using some sort of karma. You want to throw away that karma. The temples are far away; not in the city. We will automatically get peace and energy. Some Indian temples are in big hill stations. There are no facilities for cars and no roadways. We must walk up by steps for two miles or three miles. Automatically, our body becomes very tired. 'Oh, my God'. That's the sound that comes. 'I'm very tired, Oh, my God!' Just like this, the devotion automatically comes. It's a penance."

From Pujya Sri Swamiji

"He who chooses the beginning of a road chooses the place it leads to. It is the means that determine the end. Seek Sachchidananda to choose the right path."

Sri Swamiji from Bhakti Mala, Dec 2008

"Dharma does not mean Hinduism or Christianity. People can have any devotion they want. Dharma means good human activities, control of sense organs and the path to self-inquiry leading to self-realization. Dharma means perfection. Dharma also means understanding your real self."

Discourse on 2nd July 2009 frisco texas "Atma Jnana is the permanent solution to all Problems"

Don’t take the problems to your mind. If you put the problems on to your mind they will burn you up. Instead put the problems on the Atman. The Atman in turn will burn your problems. Atman is capable of handling any problem where as the mind and sense organs are not. You are often contemplating on the problems. Such contemplation attaches us to the senses, sensory organs and the mind. This enables the problems to gain access to the mind. Once they gain access to the mind they gradually eat away your mind. This causes pain and suffering. This is not the solution to the problem also. Instead if you address the problems to the Atman, the problems by themselves will be burnt away, as they cannot gain access to the Atman. In other words detaching oneself from the pains and pleasures of the senses and sensory organs and contemplating on the true self is Atma Jnana. This should be the aim and goal of everyone. This is also the solution to every problem. The question is “How to address our problems to the Atman?” For this we have to know about the Atman. One must spend at least some time everyday trying to know the true nature of self (Atma Tatva). Sadguru guides the disciple in this path of Atma Jnana through a number of methods suited to our mental makeup.

Discourse on 2nd July 2009 frisco texas "Discard the Garbage to attain Joy"

Jaya Guru Datta
In this country (USA), we have many settlements and places with names New York, New England, New Hampshire, Little Rock, Little England etc. If so, why cannot we have little India here at this Ashrama?? Culture and Tradition are basis of our healthy existence. Dharma in the form of morality should be the back bone of our existence.

We are following many examples for enjoyment. But, it is high time to choose our model characters, for us to follow. Lord Rama, Hanuman and similar role models should inspire us in our life. We think of Frustration, despair quite often and even worry death. What is the need of it? As long we live, let us live a life of happiness and joy which is possible thru contentment only. Cause of all our worries is the garbage accumulation in our mind. Discard the garbage! You will be happy again. It is easier said than done. How to discard the long accumulated Garbage! It is not an easy job. Here is why you are. You are here with Sadguru, who will help you discard the rot in mind.

The annual cleansing program is what Guru Poornima signifies. Inspired by our Masters thru generations, we are carrying out the job. The tradition has amply demonstrated the importance of this annual conditioning camp of revering one’s own Guru, to discard despair and lust. With the conviction that he Guru is the saviour of mankind, we should carry out the instructions without fail. That is the key to happiness!

We pray that Datta blesses all of you find that key to happiness!

Discourse on 1st June 2009 Speech at Sri Rama Mandir, Plano, Texas

Jaya Guru Datta! It is heartening that we all are here at this sacred place. We all spend time in routine jobs. Some times, we develop minor and major doubts, about the happenings of life and even the purpose of it. Even Lord Rama was also not an exception. Being a prince, he was trained in Shaastra (Scripures) and Shastra (Weaponry). After graduation from the Guru Kula, he looked very dull and seemed to be lost in a whirlpool of thoughts. At this juncture, Sage Vasishtha (Kula Guru) discussed the issue of permanence, impermanence, penance, achievement and other fundamental issues. The discussion is recorded as Yoga Vaasishtham.

This is also called Gnaana Vaasishtham, as Sage has elaborately discussed the issues of practice, principles of Wisdom. We should at least read this text, every day or every week. In addition, Adhyaatma Ramayana is another text to be studied. We can look at Ramayana from several perspectives. 1. A beautiful Story 2. Morality Angle 3. Finesse of Righteousness 4. Philosophical Aspect.

The Fourth Vista is evident in Adhyaatma Ramayana. (This text details the feeling of Lord Rama, analysing each of the forthcoming events and depicts the philosophical personality of Lord Rama, different than the popular valiant Hero.)

It is good that you all are reading Tulasi Das – composed Rama Charita Maanasa. Each Doha (Couplet) has significance. Try to understand it and your life will improve a lot.

It is not mere coincidence but divine will that we are here before the Hanuman Temple inauguration. God wanted us to visit Rama before consecrating Hanuman.

All are welcome to participate in the programs of Hanuman Cultural Centre.

12th Anniversary of Datta Temple and Hall of Trinity, Baton Roug, LA

Swamiji plans to perform Homa (fire worship) to distribute the energy of the Mantra through out the globe at several places including Badri, Haridwar, Kashi, Delhi, Surat, Mekedatu, Mysore, Germany, Malaysia, USA and several other places. Many people think Yagya is fire worship. Swamiji’s method is different. It includes Nama Yagya (chanting names of God), Sankeertana Yagya (Singing Glory of God), Archana Yagya (Worship of God), Jnana Yagya (Divine discourses dispensing knowledge) and several others apart from the common fire ritual. Atman is like the fire pit or Homakunda. With every inhalation and exhalation we are chanting Soham. Concentrating on this sound draws you closer to the Atman. All the above mentioned practices are processes to train the Indriyas. It is a method to energize your heart and mind. Like a satellite that draws energy from the sun for its movement these practices enable one to rejuvenate or replenish their energy reserves. This is a wonderful phenomenon. We have such a tremendous potential in our body to regenerate such a great energy. Unfortunately we are misusing and abusing our body with lust, anger, hunger, sleep and vices. The body is bound to disappear one day. It will merge with the five elements. Make proper use of it as long as it is there. Protect it. Collect as much positive energy as possible. Grab the energy that Sadguru is dissipating for you. Look at His feet, face, body. His Darshan is energizing. Do not visualize Him as a mere human because he apparently seems to eats, walks, talks and behaves like you. Guru Gita proclaims that one who visualizes Sadguru as an ordinary human is a great sinner beyond doubt. He is divinity in physical form. You are lucky because He is your friend and family member. You find in Rama’s incarnation that He cried for Sita His consort. He was incarnation of Vishnu, He knew everything, yet He behaved as a human reacting to all emotions. He addressed Himself as son of Dasaratha and not as an incarnation of Vishnu. He (Rama), the Paramatman went in search of Sita, (Jeevatma) enquiring every tree, every stone, every river and every one who came by, the where about of Sita. There were so many people ready to marry Rama, but Rama is always calling Sita! That is the bondage of the Paramatma with the Jeevatma. The forest means body – it has many a hindrance. It is dense, dark and deep. The 72000 Nadis including Ida (Moon), Pingala (Surya) and Sushumna (Brahma) Nadis are the trees, billions of cells of many types. Each cell is vibrating for Sita. Rama gave respect to the body. Hanumanta who is like Prana is like the bridge. Anjaneya is like the bridge from Jeevatma to Paramatma. Despite being incarnate of Lord Vishnu Rama acted like a human. It was his self imposed restriction. Similarly we often think Swamiji is like any of us out of ignorance failing to realize His divine dimension. One must learn to see the divinity in Sadguru. As long as you live visualize your Guru as divine. He will help you to attain Ananda through your Prana. With the help of Prana you must help meeting of the Jeevatma with the Paramatma just like Hanumanta helped in the Union of Sita and Rama (Jeevatma and Paramatma). Guru is always Nitya Nootana (New everyday). His grace is always new and vibrant. We must thank Him for this union. That’s why in Bible it is mentioned as “Remember Me”! You have a lot of experience with Sadguru. Contemplate on those pleasant experiences. Make them unforgettable. They are life time experiences, never to be forgotten. He is Parabrahman. Invite Him to your heart, not to your home. Rara maa inti daaka (Come up to my house O Rama) sang saint Tyagaraja but Swamiji’s mission is Intitiki tirigi tirigi hitamu panchu padamu (distribute goodness by going from door to door. We often invoke and invite the Lord to our heart with a special Mudra (gesture) – chanting Avahayami. It is a request to the Lord to stay in the heart. You must conserve your energy for this invitation. Keep your heart clean and fit for the Sadguru to reside. Keep your Guru in the highest esteem. Don’t talk garbage. Save your energy. Use your Sadguru properly.

Swami Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Youngstown, Ohio 21st July 2009

Jaya Guru Datta is the common greeting that we use when we meet each other. Many new comers are worried and not sure what it means. It is a wonderful greeting which has a deep inner meaning. ‘Jaya’ means Victory, ‘Guru’ represents knowledge; Datta’ means a gift, sacrifice, self surrender. Sacrifice does not mean killing animals, it implies self less service. It implies work is worship. It means surrendering to Paramatman who is Nirvikara (Unwavering). This surrender is possible only through commitment. This is the state of bliss (Ananda). Instead of saying HELLO (which reverberates and rhymes with HELL – a place where no one would like to be) one must put in the habit of addressing and greeting each other with the phrase Jaya Guru Datta which radiates victory, knowledge and bliss. It is very simple to attain God, as simple as we breathe and also as important as our breath. The sound of the breath SOHAM is the silent prayer of the soul to attain communion with the Supreme Lord. Our mind is inherently very fickle in its nature. It is like a Monkey. We have designed several methods to control this fickle mind. We worship Lord Hanuman; we respect the five elements; we respect Nature; we respect plants and animals. All these methods have been established to tame the erratic mind. This has nothing to do with any religion. It is Universal Dharma (code of conduct). It is about all religions.

The body is itself a moving temple. Each part is contemplated upon as a location of spiritual centre and a deity. Twenty four names of Lord Vishnu are related to 24 areas in the body from head to toe or vice versa. Therefore one must respect the body and make proper use of this body to attain salvation. However, people cause lot of damage by smoking, alcohol and in many other ways which is alarming. The body is constituted of the five elements and worship of five elements is way of expressing the gratitude. There is a schedule to offer three time prayers. Hanuman is the representative of air element. Without air, water, earth, fire and sky, there is no life. We also respect Sun without whom life is impossible. Bliss is the final goal of all these practices. We often describe divinity as all pervading and infinite and so every object that we see around and that we cannot see around are all sources for divine inspiration. That is why the thousand names of the Lord have names relating to objects also. Today is solar eclipse. Pray to the sun, do not get panic about the rumors. Lord Almighty will take care of the Catastrophe if any. God is just one; only the names are different. Bhagavatam and Bhagavadgita speak about Vishwaroopa (cosmic all pervading form of the divine). We also manifest in that divinity. In fact it is that divine energy that is driving us. The aspect of creativity of the mind, the thought generation, quest for knowledge, is the Brahma entity within us. The aspect of sustenance of the body, mind and soul is Vishnu. Shiva is Nirguna and Nirakara (formless) deity, remover of sin and bestows auspiciousness. Vishnu principle likes adornment while Shiva is the dispeller of sins, he loves ablutions. Just like the milk from any cow is white, flowers are many but garland is same similarly despite having different cultures God is one and the same.

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from Bhakti Mala, Sep 2008

"Most people have heard of Rishis (seers) and their Tapas (penance). What they do not know is, the real meaning of Tapas. Many people think that sitting in a forest and doing Japa (uttering mantra) with an unshaven beard, closed eyes and controlled breath constitutes Tapas. No, this is not real Tapas. Whatever is done to help others with unselfish attitude, balanced mind and dedicated spirit is real Tapas. Such actions, whether in the spiritual field, business and trade, or agriculture are all different forms of Tapas!"

PUJYA SRI SWAMIJI'S SPEECH, Chicago, July 25, 2002

"First you control and kill ego. Ignore and kill that ego. Teach your Buddhi a lesson and punish your sense organs. Then they will come under control. In the beginning you need a Guru. Once you learn driving, you have to drive the car by yourself. You have to drive your Buddhi. This body is a chariot. Lord Krishna is the driver in the beginning. See the Bhagavad Gita photo. Krishna is the driver and Arjuna the passenger is asking many questions and troubling the driver. I am your driver. Sadguru will protect your body and drive your body for some time. There afterwards you have to feel it in the heart and drive your chariot by yourself."

PUJYA SRI SWAMIJI'S SPEECH At Church of Ascension, Wembley, On 24th April 2002

"Go slowly. Patience. Then you will understand. You will get initiated…… How many days? How many years? You will get to it. Because we are Karma jeevis, you must experience all the samsara. You must experience. You must give respect to your responsibility, your children and your family. That’s a duty to attend; your karma duty. Don't escape. Side by side, Sadguru will definitely give strength for your life."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from 700 Sayings of Sachchidananda

"Share your happiness;
And share others' sorrow;
Be a child with children
And when among the sages,
Let your mind be alert
Sachchidananda, Lord of true bliss eternal."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from Bhakti Mala, June 2009

"Contact with saints and Mahatmas takes you towards the doorsteps of God. Contact with the world and attachment to worldly possessions will only bind you to the world. Make the right choice right now!"

Sri Swamiji from Bhakti Mala, June 2009

"If you want to progress in the spiritual path, you have to set your mind high on the spiritual goals and pay least attention to the lower order of worldly matters. If you adore God, you will reflect Godliness. If you adore the world, you will only reflect worldliness."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Navarathri's,Mysore Ashrama, 8-Oct-1997

Generally Saraswati is seated on rocks , Lakshmi stands in a Lotus and
Parashakti is depicted holding a sword. Saraswati is shown holding a
Veena and wearing a white saree. Her vehicle is Hamsa bird. Hamsa is
Ananda Brahma, Veena is our spinal cord and the White saree depicts
knowledge. But such beautiful Goddess is shown sitting on a rock. The
rock represents our head which is very hard to crack. She is sitting on
our heads. That is told though our speech is her music through Veena.
She is Shabda Brahma. She is the giver of knowledge. The knowledge she
gives flows from our Sahasrara downwards. The Blessing of Saraswati is
important. She is all the 24 principles and the 64 knowledge and 52
Beejaaksharas.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Message on Guru Purnima, 16-Jul-2000

We should run towards spirituality. Spirituality will not come to you.
We have three types of qualities, Satva, Rajo and Tamo Gunas. If you
have Satva Guna, the Guru will come to you. If you have Rajo Guna you
have to go the Guru. The Tamo Guna people do not believe in God. The
Rajo Guna people should be careful. By controlling our emotions we have
to surrender to our Sadguru step by step and in a slow manner.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Birthday message on June 12, 2000

You find that in some cities, impure water is recycled and made pure.
You know that the Sun is the cause of recycling of water in the nature.
Similarly, the Sadguru gives knowledge, removing ignorance of the
disciple.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Navaratri's 6-Oct-1997

If one performs Yoga, the entire country will be blessed with good rain.
This is the specialty of Yoga. If you arrange Yoga through the Sadguru,
the entire world is benefited. You also will be specially blessed.
Sadguru acts as shock absorber. However, if you intend to progress
directly-without performing any rituals or without Sadguru's guidance,
you may have to suffer like NamaDeva. The great devotee NamaDeva used to
go to Vaikunta- abode of Vishnu and was accustomed to speak to the lord.
However, Vishnu advised NamaDeva to make proper approach through the
help of Sadguru. Just as the celestials stipulated step by step
procedure to spiritual progress, so also the Sadguru arranges various
practices to uplift you.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Sivarathri, Mysore Ashrama,7-Mar-1997

Karma is like a house lock. Imagine a house lock. You put the key in the
lock and turn it clockwise, it opens. Turn it anti clockwise, it locks.
Likewise Karma acts both ways. It locks as well as unlocks i.e. it
imprisons you as well as frees you. Some say that karma always imprisons
you. That is wrong. If we do our Karma in a selfless manner, our
previous bad Karma gets erased. There can be no bargain. If you do half
selfishly and half selflessly, then it will not work

Sri Swamiji’s Discourse at DRC, 04/08/09

There lot of books Swamiji given. Lot of lectures. Your languages,
Telugu language, all kinds of languages. Why not you select a
CD or a DVD? Time to time, you attend for Swamiji’s classes,
Kriya Yoga classes. Do practice, Sadhana. Then you understand.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima Celebrations, Dallas, TX, on 6th July 2009

"Krishna is the divine driver. Arjuna represents the individual bound by Karma. You may be a great swimmer but if something goes wrong in the sea what will you do. You must sit in the Sadguru boat. The first lesson with Sadguru is Patience. Don’t get irritated."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima Celebrations, Dallas, TX, on 5th July 2009

"Remember Sadguru is your friend. You may not understand big terms like God or Savior, but you definitely understand what a good friend means – One who stands by you in your sorrow. It can be none other but your Sadguru. So, always try to be happy and smiling. It takes you closer to your Sadguru. Don’t be doubtful in your devotion."

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Pujya Sri Swamiji’s Message at Kadiri at the time of Temple Inauguration, AP, India, 16-Nov-2008

Swamiji came running to see you all, impressed by your dedication and
devotion to this temple construction. You should also come to your
Sadguru like that. He understands your feelings. Your attachment to Guru
itself is the energy. Mother Goddess Lakshmi blesses us with happiness
and removes all the sorrows. Without hesitation or shyness, participate
in this Yagya in your own capacity. We waste money in many things like
share market. If you give it for this noble cause then Mother will give
much more to you in return. This contribution you make will be eternal.
You are lucky that you have joined your Sadguru in this work.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Datta Jayanti Celebrations, Mysore Ashrama, 13-Dec- 1997

One who practices Nada upasana has no grief in life or death. He need
not go the hell having become sinless. By chanting Vedas, one will be
blessed by all celestials. By ardent singing of divine names, one gets
stability and peace of mind leading to the realization of the knowledge
of the supreme soul. By constant recitation of Veda and contemplation of
its significance, the vision of Datta will be finally fixed within the
secret of creation is reveled to oneself then.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Chicago - July 24, 2002 - Guru Purnima day

"We perform Mothers Day, Fathers Day, etc., etc. On Guru Purnima, we perform Guru's Day. The other forms of Days are more and more Karma adding days. But on Guru Purnima day, our Karmas vanish. Karma adds up in other types of celebratory days. Because we get more attached to the worldly bondage and the Karma grows. We must surrender to Sadguru, and He gives good vibration, protection and Ananda."

Sri Swamiji’s Discourse at Dharmavaram, AP, India, on Nov 15, 2008

Devotion is very important, not the quantity you are offering. Rukmini
was able to prove her devotion with a Tulasi leaf, where as Satyabhama
could not win even with all her golden ornaments put together. Sometimes
a soulful prostration is all that is enough. Food that is offered
without love, Puja that is offered without devotion, Vratas that lack
Ekagrata (concentration) are not appreciated by the Lord. Whatever we
do, we should synchronize in thought, word and deed. Then only we will
get the fruits of our action.
.

Speech of Sri Swamiji after Sri Chakra Puja on 19th August 2000, Toronto, Canada

"Feel Swamiji's presence in your daily life. Feeling is more important than acts. Putting a photo of Swamiji in the frond dash and driving has no meaning if you think bad and sin. Keeping a photo in front and a girl friend in the back will not help. Swamiji should be in your breath. Breath is the Brahma, the Prana. When we involve Swamiji so deeply in your life, then you will not allow bad things to be done by you. You will not permit your body or mind to commit a sin."

Discourse of Pujya Sri Swamiji, Navarathri's at Hyderabad, 29-Sep-2008

Human body is one small town and a walking town ship or it is like a
space ship. Human body is like a walking city, a moving city in which
buddhi, atma and shareera are merged. Our body is very peculiar. The
secret of this body has not been discovered. This robot is yet to be
discovered.

Discourse of Pujya Sri Swamiji, Navarathriis at Hyderabad, 29-Sep-2008

When water with 32 moolikas is poured on spatika or saaligrama, there
will be change in vibrations due to which the quality of moolika
theertha will enhance medicinally. As a doctor Sri Swamiji instructs the
devotees as to how many times in what quantities the devotees have to
take. Sri Swamiji instructs devotees whether to take the theertham once
or twice or three times a day or Swamiji may instruct to take it after
exposing it to sunlight for one day. This is all medicine. It is
empowered with mantra
