These days, we keep on changing jobs, houses, cars, wives, husbands; it
is common to change Gurus also. It is not good. A Telugu proverb says,
we can change houses but we cannot change hearts.

Some ask "Will Swamiji Bless a non devotee?" Yes. Certainly. Swamiji
blesses people unknowingly. Being a devotee does not qualify for
Blessings. You can sit and pray for that person. You pray for your
family members. Like that you can pray for any one. Swamiji will
definitely Bless them.

Your moral corruption and despondency are your own and there is no
necessity to infect others with this moral and psychological ailment. As
such, every person has to traverse the path chalked out for that
individual. This path is unique and no one has the right to make

Granted, I adhere to Karma Yoga and respect it. However, Dattatreya’s
teachings, state ‘Smarthrugami Sanovathu’, ‘Smarana mathra
santhushta.’ Therefore, do not accord undue importance to Karma Yoga
and formal worship. It is sufficient to chant ‘Datta’. This renders
Him very happy. Therefore chant ‘Sri Guru Datta’. Such intonation
provides immense joy to Lord Anjaneya, as He is also a follower of Lord
Datta.

Datta denotes not only gift, but also sacrifice. It signifies
Smarthrugami Sanovathu. One should chant Datta, Jaya Guru Datta, after
closing one’s eyes. Alternatively, one can contemplate Datta. Most of
the persons gathered here think about ‘Data’ to the exclusion of
everything else. These are somewhat similar, so there is no harm in such
reflection.

Whilst praying to God or the Guru, there should be no wish or demand.
Every devotee is duty bound to offer salutations, respect and perform
Nama Kirtana or singing the glory of the Lord. Expectation and
anticipation of the result of one’s actions is to one’s
disadvantage. A person should never think that despite having conducted
considerable prayer and having offered significant amounts of money, no
good had resulted. Such thoughts constitute sin.
