Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Dallas, Texas, US, 6-Jul-09

You must sit in the Sadguru boat. The first lesson with Sadguru is
patience. Don’t get irritated. There is no time limit for Him. He is
‘Kaalateeta, Kaala Manohara Bhairava Roopa’ that is beyond the time
perspective. Sadguru is a silent teacher. He teaches through His actions
and gestures. Action itself is Bodhana.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse,Sri Krishna Janmaashtami, Mysore Ashrama, 23-Aug-2008

Desire exists in every human being. Desire is the feminine aspect of an
individual. Krishna alone is the masculine entity in the world. All
others are filled with desire and so feminine in nature. Krishna is
called 'Pumsa Mohana Rupaya' i.e. He, whose charm is attractive even for
the male, whose beauty bewilders all the beings, He who is absolute
Purusha i.e. Paramatman.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Laguna Hills, CA, USA, 09-Aug-2009

Datta denotes not only gift, but also sacrifice. It signifies
Smarthrugami Sanovathu. One should chant Datta, Jaya Guru Datta, after
closing one’s eyes. Alternatively, one can contemplate Datta. Most of
the persons gathered here think about ‘Data’ to the exclusion of
everything else. These are somewhat similar, so there is no harm in such
reflection.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Guru Purnima, Mysore, India, 30-Jul-96

Guru is Purna [full]. Here full does not denote form or decoration. This
can be done by many. Full here denotes enlightening the six chakras and
removing the darkness of ignorance. Sadguru Darshana is capable of
removing sins. This is the importance of Guru Purnima.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivarathri,Mysore, India, 07-Mar-1997

To practice selfless Karma, you need guidance of a Sadguru. You mustn
live the Vedantic way. Your past Karma sometimes bring you
unhappiness. The selfless Karma you do now will erase that old Karma and
bring you relief.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Mt. Shasta,CA, USA, 07-Aug-2009

Whilst praying to God or the Guru, there should be no wish or demand.
Every devotee is duty bound to offer salutations, respect and perform
Nama Kirtana or singing the glory of the Lord. Expectation and
anticipation of the result of one’s actions is to one’s
disadvantage. A person should never think that despite having conducted
considerable prayer and having offered significant amounts of money, no
good had resulted. Such thoughts constitute sin.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Dallas, Texas, US, 02-Jul-09

Detaching oneself from the pains and pleasures of the senses and sensory
organs and contemplating on the true self is Atma Jnana. This should be
the aim and goal of everyone.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Q&A session, Dallas,Texas, USA, 9-Jul-09

The merit of good Karma (noble actions) gets carried on to subsequentbirths, such actions if done without a desire (Nishkama Karma) will leadto redemption form the bondage of birth and death. Any action good orbad will have a fruit and one must experience the fruit if the actionhas been performed with a desire. If your action is without a desire andsurrendered to the Almighty its result does not bind you. Therefore theidea is not to make a choice in your desires but to become choice lessor desire less.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Maha Sivaratri, Mysore, 7-Mar-97

Many Vedantic principals can be explained with the aid of similes andexamples. But only a Sadguru can decide which principles can be put into practise and which cannot be. You should listen the instructions ofthe Sadguru.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Birthday celebrations at Mysore Ashrama,

We are still in a stage we differentiate as 'I' and 'You'. Suchdifferentiation should go. Only then our journey towards Ekatva willtake us to the real end. In order to reach that goal, we are followingdifferent means, different religions. But the purpose is the same - toreach the Almighty. There are innumerable varieties of sweet dishes. Butthe common factor is one - sugar. Because of different forms and shapes, they are called by different names.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Dallas, Texas, USA, 06-Jul-09

If you are confused about Vedanta then you are the first student ofVedanta. Proper enquiry actually starts because of confusion. Tapa meanspenance. If you make proper enquiry or Tapa you will get the solution.Strictly speaking all confusion is your own creation. House, Marriage,Children, Bank Balance etc are all your creations. It is the fruit ofyour action or Karma.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's discourse on Bhakti, Mysore, 11-Dec-2008

The ultimate goal of all spiritual practices is salvation. There are
however several paths to reach this ultimate goal. Of the several paths
that lead to liberation, Bhakti (devotion) has been given a very
important place. Bhakti connotes different meanings to different people.
Going to temple, chanting divine names, performing Homa are all examples
of Bhakti.

Sri Swamiji’s Discourse at Dharmavaram, AP, India, on 15-Nov-2008

As soon as you get up from bed, get up pleasantly, not with grief or
fear. Thank the Lord that you are alive. No body can extend your life.
It is His grace that you are alive today. Thank Him. Plead for divine
knowledge. Plead for a charitable mind. Plead for tranquility and
balance. Plead for strength to win over obstacles. Listen to some good
Bhajan or Suprabhata or Vishnu or Lalita Sahasranama. Get up chanting
the Mantra given by Guru or any God’s name or Rama Taraka Mantra

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Huntsville, Alabama, USA, 13-Aug-09

Vishnu Sahasranama brings peace not only to your family but also to the
family of your friends who are far away abroad. When you recite it
during the day the merit goes to you. When you recite at night the merit
goes to your friends and family far away in India. Vishnu Sahasranama
redeems one from all evils, diseases, bondages and fear of dangers. It
bestows health, wealth and prosperity. Vishnu has no day and night. He
is awake at all times. Therefore we can pray to Him at all times.

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Swami Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Youngstown, Ohio, 21-Jul-09

Jaya Guru Datta is the common greeting that we use when we meet each
other. Many new comers are worried and not sure what it means. It is a
wonderful greeting which has a deep inner meaning. ‘Jaya’ means
Victory, ‘Guru’ represents knowledge; ‘Datta’ means a gift,
sacrifice, self surrender.
