Guru Purnima Speech by Sri Swamiji - 13 July 2003 Jain Temple, San Jose, CA, USA

"Guru is like Atman. He is in you. He is in your inner self. It is very difficult to find a Guru these days. Male Gurus, female Gurus,..... they are all pervasive these days. They are in all denominations, decorations, bearded ones, shaved ones; it is very difficult to find a Guru. Because people want it so much, the Gurus too are confused. These days, we keep on changing jobs, houses, cars, wives, husbands; it is common to change Gurus also. It is not good."

The Visit of His Holiness Sri Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji to Dattatreya Yoga Centre, Carapichaima, Trinidad, from 25th to 29 the April, 2002

"Don’t mix dreams and reality. Some people get illusions and talk nonsense. That’s not good. I do not want such losers. Say, 'thanks for the drama, Swamiji'. What to do with your life? I will give you advice. Use me. Talk to me. Bother me. Quarrel with me. Your illusions are not good. I will give good answers and good guidance."

Sri Swamiji's Discourse at Datta Retreat Center (DRC), Pittsburgh, PA, 04/08/09

"My mission is different, my ambition is different, my avatara is different. You must train yourself; take something good from Swamiji. All of you people, something you are missing; something very very real, you are missing. Of course, we have problems -- children problems, money problems, health problems, many problems. Okay, I agree, but don't treat Swamiji as one mantravadi, like a TV advertisement horoscopes kind of Guru. Business Guru is not good."

Discourse of Pujya Sri Swamiji at Navarathris, Hyderabad, 28 September 2008

"Under no circumstances we should abuse God and Dharma. We have to discharge our duty till the last breath. That is our Dharma. If God troubles us, it is our duty to untie the knot. If we have two gold chains in our neck, they frequently get entangled. We untie the knots of the chains very patiently because we want the gold chains. We do not throw them just because they are entangled. If there is a knot in our hair we untie the knot carefully but we don't cut the hair."

Pujya Sri Swamiji from Seven Hundred Sayings of Sachchidananda

"Are you attached to the world, to Samsara
Or is the world, Samsara attached to you?
It is like hugging a pillar fondly
And crying out, 'free me, please, free me'!
Sachchidananda, Lord of true bliss eternal!"

Sri Swamiji, from Sri Swamiji in Austria

"Swamiji is sometimes like a wall. If you hit the wall, the wall stays where it is, or it is going back. It is not coming. So, be careful. Be careful. Do Guru Seva (service) and try to understand. Slowly, you can develop a relationship with your Guru. You must have a strong faith, then you will get His blessings. Also, if you want too much at a time, you will get fed up with Swamiji one day. Then you don't want Swamiji anymore."

Sri Swamiji speaks on arrival day Grapevine Convention Center – Dallas, Texas, USA 24 July 2003

"Guru is needed for Spiritual upliftment. Otherwise how can you achieve Bliss or Ananda? Guru Parampara is sacred. It is difficult to explain about Guru. In Guru Geeta Parvati asks Lord Shiva to explain about Guru. The teaching of Shiva to Parvati is GURU GEETA. It is also ATMA TATTVA GEETA. It is a very important teaching. It is a human discipline penance. It is Saadhana Yoga. It is Atma Vidya. Guru creates doubts in our mind. Guru is trinity form. He creates doubts. He keeps the doubts in you and he also kills the doubt. Teach your children the Guru Mantra of GURU BRAHMA GURU VISHNU..... Of course, normal education is needed but ensure your children learn the traditions. Guru, Puja, Temple, Gods, Language, etc."

Sri Swamiji speech of Narasimha Jayanthi Celebrations 6-5-2009

“I remember a story of Narasimha from my childhood.

One of Sri Swamiji's paternal grandfathers was a great worshipper of Narasimha (Upasaka). The Narasimha Jayanti was grandly celebrated by them. It was a nine day festival. I remember the festivities. I was a very small boy. My elder step brother used to carry me around.

Once just before the festival the main Puja box with the idols was stolen. The ancestor roamed the town crazily looking for the Puja box and begging for its return.

He went from village to village asking for information on it. In one such village, because of the summer heat, he sat in a house and asked for water and dozed off, exhaustion wearing him down. In the sleep he had a vision of Lord Narasimha informing that the idols were kept on a wooden beam couple of houses away from where he slept. He woke up in a daze. He went to that house. He slipped and fell in front of the house. The family of the house took him inside and gave him food and bed for the night. Worried about the missing Puja box, he sang himself to sleep. In the middle of the night, the wooden beam broke open and the idols fell to the floor with loud noise. Of the idols found that night, Sri Swamiji still carries the Narasimha Saligrama and the Lakshmi Narasimha Idol. I remembered the story during Puja and decided to share the story with you all. The idols will be kept close to the Darshana queue. Come close and have a look at them".

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Feb 14, 1999 - Maha Shivaratri

"Don’t misuse this human body. It is full of energy. Every part of the human body is precious. All the celestials, all the oceans, all the rivers and all the spiritual energy exist in the body. The entire philosophy is in the body. Each part of the body is spiritual. If you misuse the body, you will be disappointed. Let not desire and anger misdirect you to waste the life time."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Chicago - July 26, 2002

"One has to suffer one’s Karma. It should not be a business devotion. Guru can give moral support. You have to walk alone in your path. You have to live to your Karma. It is your sole responsibility. Our good and bad in life is due to our Karma. We have to enjoy or suffer for it. Then why follow a Guru? To develop a good way of life so that the Karma dissolves and you have a better life next time."

Bhaktimala Nov 1980 Swamiji states

Partaking teertham from the holy hands of the Sadguru
is equivalent of bathing in all the holy rivers of
this entire universe.

Prasadam received from the hands of Sadguru destroys
sins. When I am eating, all my thoughts are focussed
on that all powerful Paramatma. The energy from such
japa enters into the food, the water as well as the
air surrounding that place. In turn this results in
the purification of the brain (medadu).

Pujya Sri Swamiji from Seven Hundred Sayings of Sachchidananda

"Why do you keep requesting God,
'I want this', 'I want that'? Fool,
He who protects all that is living,
Doesn't He know what you need and
How much of it you need? He knows it,
Sachchidananda, Lord of true bliss eternal!"

Pujya Sri Swamiji from Bhakti Mala, Feb 2007

"We need God. There can be no two thought about it. But, why do we need Guru between us and God? This question haunts many theists. By taking refuge in Sadguru, ego will be destroyed. That is for sure. When ego is destroyed, God will be pleased with you."

Pujya Sri Swamiji from Bhakti Mala, Feb 2007

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from Bhaktimala Dec 2008

"If you are in harmony within yourself, the entire outside world will also be in harmony. If you see conflicts outside, it is your inner conflict, which on projection sees conflicts outside. In the grand scheme of Mother Nature, there is a beautiful arrangement for everything. Nature has not caused any conflicts anywhere. It is the human mind which creates and sees conflicts. The more you see conflict or talk about it, the more power you are giving to it."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from Bhakti Mala, Nov 2008

"All ways and paths are equally important and effective as they lead to the same goal, i.e., merging of the ego (the notion of I-ness) in the Supreme Self. Good, better or best are only relative terms. For each person, that path is the best which appears easiest and appeals the most."

Sri Swamiji, from Bhakti Mala Aug 2008

"Among the four paths, namely, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga and Prapatti Yoga, shown by the Geetachaarya as tools for self-realization and release from the worldly bondage, Prapatti or Sharanaagati -- the Yoga of surrender -- is the most suited for the present day man."

Sri Swamiji, from Bhakti Mala, Aug 2008

"The path of surrender does not require an extremely sharp intellect which is needed for pursuing the path of knowledge (Jnana Yoga). It also does not require the supreme love for God which is the essence of the path of devotion (Bhakti Yoga). It also does not involve any action to be converted into Yoga of action (Karma Yoga) as propounded by the scriptures. Yet, the path of surrender (Prapatti Yoga) possesses the main characteristics of all the three."

Sri Swamiji, from God Word III

"A real devotee of God will never be upset by grief, or elated by happiness. Whatever maybe the nature of events, favorable or unfavorable, he knows it is all God's will and he simply submits himself to God, keeping God always in his mind. People should have complete faith in God. They should KNOW, God, Sadguru, does only good for them."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Germany, 24 November 2001

"Teaching will come to you from all corners. Experience Sri Swamiji and His compassion, and remember that you have no right to say about other's experiences unless you experience yourself something concrete and that is up to your Karma. This book (Sri Swamiji shows himself) is deep and has many pages. Do not be in confusion. Do not be in conflict. It is time to set your destiny in true contemplation and experience."

Pujya Sri Swamiji, from Seven Hundred Sayings of Sachchidananda

"These are not the days for honest men;
For liars, these are the days of harvest season;
Through thick and thin, trust the Lord;
He will never ever let us down;
Sachchidananda, true bliss eternal!"

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Germany, 24 November 2001

"So many Gurus say a mantra is important. But they interpret in their own way according to their tendencies. What is required is Chitta Shuddhi (purification of the self) of its external impurities (veils). At some level we are all trying to purify ourselves by what you saw and did just now, such as Pada Puja, Karma, children education, homes etc., All kinds of services including social service is part of good Karma and following the instructions of a Sadguru is also a good karma. You might interpret my messages differently depending on the occasion. There are so many ways to reach the path of self. But the final goal and the final good comes when you have achieved Chitta Shuddhi (purity of intellect)."

Pujya Sri Swamiji's Discourse, Mysore Ashrama, Sept 13, 2000

"Equanimity is very important. Don't hate fate"
